Because EMDR Therapy is a standard of practice for working with trauma clients, and is an entire therapy modality, in and of itself, to do Equine-Assisted EMDR, means that we are also saying that we are trained in EMDR and then its application via Equine-Assisted EMDR.  There is a clinical and ethical standard of practice for doing EMDR Therapy, let alone moving into utilizing EA-EMDR.

The goal of this full EMDR International Association Approved EMDR Training is to provide clinicians with a complete integrated training in EMDR therapy. This program supports clinicians in meeting the minimum standards established by EMDRIA, as well as specific additional curriculum in dissociation. The goal is to provide clinicians with the knowledge and skills to utilize EMDR therapy, a comprehensive understanding of case conceptualization and treatment planning, and the ability to integrate EMDR therapy into their clinical practices.

Here is where this EMDR Training is unique.

Ask any of your peers who are already trained in EMDR therapy. EMDR and dissociation is covered in other basic trainings, but not in great detail. If clinicians don’t get that information, they can find EMDR therapy significantly more challenging when working with complex trauma clients. As you know, the majority of our clients actually come to us to heal from the effects of complex developmental trauma, as opposed to simple PTSD.

So, as a trauma and dissociation specialist, it was very important to me to not only support clinicians in meeting the standards established by EMDRIA for EMDR Training in Arizona, but also provide specific additional curriculum on working with complex trauma.
